In 1992, P.I.C graced the airwaves of the pirate station Energy La`mour 96.5fm for the very first time. The shows grew from strength to strength as we were finally giving Manchester, and the surrounding areas what they were missing from any other weekly radio show at that time. A chance to party, without actually leaving the comfort of your living rooms, bedrooms or even kitchens!! Every Tuesday and Thursday 9pm til 12am, every broadcast was awaited by an ever growing audience. In 1998, after 6 years of broadcasting, Love energy as it was then called, left the airwaves never to return again. P.I.C deciding never to work with another station were left with no show. Today, we are back on the new Love NRG now online, still doing what we do best whether in Manchester, around the U.K or around the world, still feel the need to broadcast a show as radio was and still is `our roots`and was also the time of some of our very best moments. 1. DJ Flamez u4e - Broadcasting live from Earth's Low Orbit ION Cannon. 2. Hip Hop, Soul, RnB 3. Most of my days are spent on board of an abandoned satellite dubbed E.L.O.I.C that was built in the 70's by a coalition of US, Russian, German and Greek engineers. The purpose of the satellite was to launch DDOS attacks from space. The satellite is still functional and it includes a living space. The satellite is currently positioned in the south west of the Norwegian Sea, slightly north of the Faroe Islands and east of Iceland. When project was abandoned near completion a caretaker was assigned to look after the satellite. The caretaker was a huge fan of the 90’s Soul scene in Manchester. A night hosted by the P.I.C Crew at my father’s pub The Fountain Inn, he’d left behind his access key to the satellite. The access key was placed in a lost and found box under the bar. After my father passed in 2001, I found the access key when sorting through his belongings, ever since then I’ve treated the Cannon/satellite as a second home. Today I use the Cannon to beam down my sound signal to Love NRG Radio for the world to hear what I’ve been beaming out into the rest of space for the last 20+ years… The finest Hip Hop, Soul and RnB this side of the Milky Way. 4. Direct Dee began his DJ journey over 37 years ago at just 13 years old, building a passion for music and entertainment that continues to this day. He first got behind the decks on Love Energy Radio back in the early 90s and quickly became known for bringing energy, great music, and crowd-pleasing vibes wherever he played. Over the years, Direct Dee has performed at a wide range of popular venues across Sale, Stockport, and beyond, including JFKs, Level 10, Ryan’s Bar, Zazars, Cobdens, White Lion, Marketplace, and many more. Today, alongside DJing, he runs his successful entertainment business, D&D Entertainment Event Hire, providing everything needed to make events unforgettable. Services include photo booths, magic mirrors, and a wide range of entertainment hire options for weddings, parties, corporate events, and special occasions. Direct Dee is currently back on Love Energy Radio hosting two popular request shows every Thursday and Saturday morning, keeping listeners entertained with great music and live shout-outs.
